South-East European Research Centre (SEERC), Thessaloniki, Greece
The South East European Research Centre (SEERC) has been set-up by City Liberal Studies-Thessaloniki and Sheffield University (UK) as a multi-disciplinary, international, non-profit research centre and think tank based in Thessaloniki. SEERC's mission is to support the sustainable, long-term political, economic, and social development of South Eastern Europe (SEE) by conducting pure and applied research and policy analysis in and for the region. Core research areas include Business and Economic Analysis, Political and Social studies, Information Technology and Cultural issues. SEERC's core research staff comes from specialists in cognate departments in the University of Sheffield and CITY Liberal Studies, as well as researchers located in and around the SEE region. SEERC-affiliated researchers have strong track records (research and publications) in areas of importance to the region. SEERC also hosts the University of Sheffield-SEERC Doctoral Programme, which provides doctoral-level research-training for students from throughout SEE who are interested in becoming researchers in the region.
Mr Georgios Anastasiadis
Mr Georgios Anastasiadis, (MPhil in International Development Economics, Essex University, UK). Senior Research Officer at SEERC for the past two years. Prior to that and since the late 1980s, Mr Anastasiadis held various positions within the Standard & Poor's (US) group of companies as senior economic analyst and then as senior associate in charge of managing consulting projects. Such projects include: "A planning model for the absorption of EU structural funds" for the Greek PM's Office, "Business opportunities in Turkey for Electrical Engineering" for General Electric, Project Co-ordinator "Panorama of the European Industry, 1995" for DGII etc. Over 150 publications on issues of country economic analysis and forecasting, keynote speaker in international conferences and TV interviews on economic development issues.
Dr. Leslie Szamosi
Dr. Leslie Szamosi (PhD Management, Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada). Senior Lecturer at City College and Honorary Researcher of the University of Sheffield. His research focuses on organisational Change and Human Resource Management and has worked in the private and public sectors in Canada and throughout South-Eastern Europe. He has published in a variety of International Journals including the Journal of Organizational Change Management and the International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management. His specific areas of research within South-Eastern Europe have been related to knowledge competency, the use of knowledge in organizational change based programs, and the link between knowledge, training and development.
